About us

The purpose of modelling is to produce meaningful data without the need for biological experiments. In the modelling we could reproduce hard to achieve biological conditions reducing the time of research to predict the important data and taking into account the dynamical nature of a complex biological system under the influence of pharmacological substances including diffusion, neural activity propagation, receptor kinetics, etc.

Directions

NeuCogAr

(Neuromodulating Cognitive Architecture) – project dedicated to modeling of 8 basic psycho-emotional states described by Silvan Tomkins using a mouse model of DA, 5-HT, NA subsystems, based on the hypothesis of Hugo Lövheim. We have conducted computational experiments computing the neuronal activity of three brain subsystems in 8 basic states and 21 intermediate states.

Migraine and pain

This model included triggers (ATP, serotonin) of nociceptive firing, variable contribution by ion channels and tested the role of morphology of meningeal fibers with multiple release sites. Using this model multiple factors were determined that appeared important to ensure prolonged nociceptive firing potentially relevant to long-lasting pain.

Spinal Cord Injury

We created a model of a spinal cord CPG running in real-time that is capable of generating bio-plausible neuronal walking patterns. The spinal CPG model is based on basic generators that we call Oscillator Motifs that form the layered structure and provide the bio-plausible neuronal patterns of muscle activation.

Cortical column

The project is dedicated to modeling the thalamo-cortical loop and their normal and epilepsy states using the mammalian model of the brain taking into account the complex structure of the somatosensory cortical column and its normal and epileptoid activity.

Our services

  • We provide neurosimulations in wide-range of different domains: brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nervous system including receptors kinetics, pharmacological influence, neurons morphology.
  • We develop environments and platforms for computational neuroscience experiments and specific software based on our IP.

In addition, we are interesting in R&D collaboration.
